Swapping his scooter for a barrel, CSAV is back again! Last year’s release was infused with barrel-aged coffee beans, cinnamon, cacao and vanilla, but we didn’t stop there... We aged this coffee and dark beer lover’s dream in bourbon barrels for 12 months, and then dosed it with a fresh round of bourbon barrel-aged coffee prior to packaging.

16oz can served in a snifter-ish glass. Can is dated 02/18/24. Got it from @Victory_Saber1973 in NBS BIF #18.
Pours black, small head. Smell is powerfully cinnamon (I can smell it before I bring it to my nose to smell). Maybe some coffee and cream on the side, but dominated by cinnamon.
Taste is sweet, syrupy, cinnamon, almost a maple sweetness. Coffee and cream and sweetener.
Mouthfeel is thick, syrupy, sticky. Overall...it's cinnamon forward, and it's really sweet. I'm not going to love it. But it's not bad.

Taste did not come through as smooth and deep and fudgy/ chocolatey as I thought it would after I smelled it. But it was still good. Has more of a slight tanginess to it. If a BA stout could be called ever be called bright and refreshing, this might be the one time.

16oz can. Bottom date stamp reads 'CANNED 02/16/2024'.
Black colored body, with a very thin mahogany brown back lit edge. Two fingers of brown head which fizzes away leaving a minor surface storm and bubble fed ring. Leaves behind some irregular lacing spots.
Aroma is heavy with coffee but joined by cacao, vanilla, and a little cinnamon. Barrel aging is distant.
Taste is a barrel aged sweet pastry. Flavors start with coffee and cacao, later on the vanilla comes in. The cinnamon seems to really settle on the tongue. Aftertaste is long lasting, with a strong cinnamon coffee aspect.
Slightly more than medium mouthfeel, with a sticky quality. Higher ABV% is warming but does not burn. Supportive carbonation.
This is a dessert sipper with long lasting flavors.

From a 16oz can canned on 02/16/2024
This beer pours pitch black. No light at all shines through. The head is a thick 2 finger brown head. I am surprised how long the head lasted. There's just a bit of lacing on the glass.
The nose has a nice dose of cinnamon. Very strong, but not overpowering. Beautiful coffee notes and I also get lots of barrel notes in this beer.
Taste - The beer starts off coffee, and it's a nice smooth flavor. The cinnamon hits on the backside. I also get a nice hit of vanilla on the backside. Notes of barrel shine through all the way.
The body actually seems a bit thin. Very smooth feeling. I am not getting any burn off this beer.
While I think it's a bit thin, this beer really tastes delicious. Well worth trying.
