This beer pours pitch black in color. There's a thick 3 finger brown head to this beer. There's great head retention and I am liking the lacing on the glass when the head dissipates.
The beer has a malty nose to it. I'm getting some chocolate malt and licorice notes to the aroma.
The flavor has a lot going on. I am getting a nice roasted chocolate malt hit to my taste buds. I also am getting a nice licorice flavor in this beer. There's a bit of bitterness on the backside.
The body is quite full feeling. It is very smooth. There's a creamy full feeling to the beer from the oats.
This beer is damn delicious. I am glad I got the chance to try it.
