Pours an effervescent & slightly hazed gold with 2 fingers of ivory colored head. Good head retention & lacing
S: Slight breadyness, not much else
T: Some bready sweetness/dryness, light orange notes as well up front. Bready dryness as this warms, more citrus with a little grapefrut sneaking in as well, just a little rye bite. Finishes dry with tangerine & grapefruit notes
MF: Medium body, crisp carbonation, decent balance
Easy drinking PA, but just middle of the pack

Tasty hops bite rounds out a smooth malty backbone. Very nice mouthfeel, thick and chewy yet nicely thirst quenching. 4th of a sampler and my favorite one yet.

This is my second beer from Tupps, and I'm glad I picked it up. It checks all the APA boxes: brilliant orange-tinged copper color, slightly off-white head, hops on the nose, nice toffee malt base.
And a nice addition of rye, which elevates this above where I think it would "normally" land. Very good beer, IMHO, especially on a warm summer day.

My original favorite Tupps beer even before it won all the awards. Just a great hearty pale ale that pairs well with barbecue, salty chips, and country music.

definitely a weird one here. they call it gold, and its listed as a pale ale, but it is decidedly amber in the glass. its really pretty though, just not what its advertised as at all. it has a radiant strawberry wine color, with almost an inch of creamy off white head with outstanding retention. smells like caramelized malts, sweeter crystal stuff rather than the pale two row and pils types in golden and pale ales. not sure how they got it that wrong there, but when i forget about style and all that, i really like the beer pretty well. its definitely hopped like an american pale ale with some nice piney bitterness to it, but the richness of the red malt gives it a lot of depth and a nice smooth round body to balance the bitterness of the hops. its drier in the end than it is in the middle, and it ends up being really drinkable. not sure this fits neatly into any style category, maybe a red ipa or something, but its not quite there on the hops. my first beer from these guys is tasty, if a little bit confused. a great food beer that loves grilled meats, fruity desserts, and salty snack food.
