L-Straw-gold color, decent frothy head. High carbonation is visible. A lot of floaters for a beer bottled on 11/30. Drinking this on 1/7.
S-Grassy, fruity and funky upfront. I'll give this beer some credit and admit it does have a strong grapefruit aroma as well with a bit of some orange and other sweet citrus. Another note I get is a subtle earthiness that I pick up in a lot of TUPPS beers. Pretty damn good on the nose.
T-Sweet up front, with some defined grapefruit characteristics. A bitter bite at the end. For what it seems, what this beer has in aroma, it lacks in flavor. Not bad, or offensive in any way, just a bit boring.
F-Refreshingly light and nicely carbonated.
O-A decent beer from TUPPS. I had one of these the other night and thought it way okay, and upon further review I find myself feeling the same way. This might be the most dull beer I've had from this brewery. Certainly not the worst, but not the best either. What makes TUPPS distinguishable from other local competitors is their ability to make their beers unique enough to be intriguing, but similar enough to know you're drinking a TUPPS beer. I say this because this beer has those qualities I've come to enjoy from TUPPS beers, but lacks the intensity I would like. Do what you want with that information. This beer is probably hit or miss depending on your preference.

Not over done but definitely has the good grapefruitiness mixed in and done right, I like that.

can dated 2/24/21; today is 3/4
pours a clear yellow gold body with an excited chalk white frothy foam head that has moderately high retention and leaves a lot of thick sticky lacing as it slowly settles
aroma is sticky thick and tart grapefruit topped with brown sugar, that eases up into a floral earthiness towards the end.
taste is grapefruit hops, grapefruit juice, and brown sugared roasted honey malt. missing are the usual spiced up notes often associated with grapefruit leading hops, in favor of literal grapefruit juice, which is often much more floral and fruity. it's an interesting juke move, for sure, using actual grapefruit in the mix.
mouthfeel moderately high carbonation and a medium body. it's relatively smooth, with carbo prickles peppered in. it finishes a tad dry but with a killer earthy bitter hop aftertaste that kicks around for quite a while.
overall:
having come mere moments from swearing Tupps off forever only days ago, here I am with another (mostly) positive review. open-mindedness pays off, friends. this brew is a juke move designed to delight and break ankles. one of the most iconic hop aroma and flavor profilings is that which conjures the noble grapefruit - but here, Tupps asks: what happens when we use actual freakin grapefruit? well, unlike most click bait, the answer may surprise you.
the result was a total dive into the complexity of the fruit stacked up against the leafy imposters which dominate the fruit's portrayal in the artform, and a beer that I am suddenly very excited to form flights around.
I can't believe I am saying this, but I think I am a Tupps fan now.
