Very crisp and clean and spicy, with almost no waxy character. One of the better saisons I've had.

32 oz. growler purchased at brewery 9/1/16. Poured into Belgian ale glass.
L: 2F head, some retention, leaves a bit of lacing, a ring, and a thin cap. Beer is a mostly clear light amber with carbonation bubbles.
S: Yeast, light malts, citrus, and lots of different spices like cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, something peppery. Almost textbook when you think of Saison.
T: Largely follows nose, but doesn't quite live up to it. Again yeast and malt drive it, you get lemon and lime and the spice, but it feels a bit watered down. Most of it was put in wine barrels for aging by the brewery, so I wonder if that enters into this and it was brewed for peak taste aged, not fresh. It tastes good, but not great.
F: Light bodied, light to medium carbonation. Lots of elements of good construction, but balance not quite there yet. Just too watery and taste diluted. Not as crisp and refreshing as could be.
O: The elements are there, so I look forward to trying the aged in wine barrels version to see how it comes out.
