Poured from a pint can into a pilsener sampling glass. A semi-aggressive pour produces about an inch of creamy white froth that sticks pretty well. The beer is a crystal clear amber color with low carbonation.
The aroma is of rich malt with a mix of earthy and floral hops with a vegetal note. The flavor is rather smooth, with a nutty bitterness and a note of sweet tobacco. A moderate bitterness lingers in the back of the mouth. It has a medium-bodied mouth feel.
I don't actually know if this is a one-time brew or a rotator. The can label describes the beer as an Imperial Red ale. A Roman numeral one perhaps signifies the one year anniversary of the brewery. Worth a try if you come across it.
