a tasty stout here done with coffee. its a bit sweeter than i like with this sort of thing, but there is both some bitterness and a little acidity from the coffee, which seems darkly roasted and rather liberally dosed in here, good and smooth overall, but massively flavored, and maybe a bit coffee heavy for some, certainly more than an accent flavor, and not overly nuanced either, almost like a pot of drip thats been on a bit too long, but i dont mind the intensity. the beer is shiny and close to black, the head is short but it hangs around, and the aroma is chocolate forward along with the coffee, warming and almost a morning vibe for me, wintery for sure. its hearty to drink on too, sweet through most of it from the barley malt, but plenty of bitter even astringent roasts exists in here, a long drawn out finish with lots of body, a caramel or toffee note, and even molasses and maple to me, maybe a pinch of milk sugar too. they call this a brunch stout, and that seems about right. i like all the flavor in a lower alcohol format here, and think that even though this could be a little better refined, its nice beer. this is a cool spot, and making some tasty beers from what i can tell. i enjoyed this and got a little caffeine pick me up as well from it.
