poured from a black-waxed 750mL bottle (2021 vintage i believe after checking on untappd) into a levante snifter. pours cola. brown but gathers in the glass light black with see-through edges and a mocha brown foam cap. bourbon, oak, coffee, chocolate and vanilla all on the nose. nothing dominates or is overly strong or in-your-face. taste follows with smooth chocolate-forward coffee and light vanilla then finished with a nice was of bourbon and oak. medium-full mouthfeel. smooth for the ABV and creamy (probably from the lactose states on the label). stellar BA’d coffee stout!

There's some shit stamped to the bottom of the can but I'll be damned if I can determine what its supposed to mean. Pours with a sizable (4 fingers?) cherry-coated mahogany head. It leaves some patchy lacing before thinning to a sheen. Body is deep dark bloody doo doo butter. Smells like a big, fudgy imperial stout. Swirl it around a bit and its mildly boozy. I'm not getting a whole lot of coffee on the nose. Tastes as big as it smells. Very sweet and, again, fudgy. The mid-palate brings a hefty dose of bitterness. I don't think its from the coffee, which I frankly don't detect much. Drying booziness on the finish. Yeah, this is pretty good even if it doesn't even begin to justify its price tag ($22/4-pack if memory serves).

Opaque dark brown body topped with a thick, fluffy, light khaki colored head; sticky fingers and patches of foam cling to the glass. Mild aroma; sweet; cocoa and chocolate. Big sweet taste; brown sugar and vanilla; moderate coffee undertone; boozy and bitter. Heavy body; light coarseness; thick and slick; a bit hot underneath the sweetness.
This is a fair imperial coffee stout but a bit too sweet with a biting alcohol hotness. The coffee makes its presence felt somewhat in the taste but gets lost in the pastry-like cloying qualities of the beer. The aroma is pretty muted, too. A pastry stout with coffee that, in essence, is a drinkable mess.

Draft pour to snifter, near black, no head, some foam film, no lacing. Nose heavy chocolate, coffee, whiskey, oak. Big body and delicious blend of same, on the sweet side but balanced. Lower than average carbonation.
