We dedicate this brew to all you OG hop-heads out there. This crossover IPA blends the olfactory freshness of New Zealand's Nelson Sauvin hop variety with a modern American IPA malt base. A crisp malt presence has the taste of flaky croissants out of the oven, drizzled in honeysuckle. And then, you're hit with a torrent of Nelson Sauvin: aromatics akin to Sauvignon Blanc and ripe flavors of sticky apricot, gooseberry, and lime. Overall, Counting Clocks tastes like terroir.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/13/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and fluffy off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, red apple, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Awesome Nelson Sauvin, Citra, Amarillo profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pale/wheat malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example. Feels almost like an NEIPA.

16-oz can packaged on 8/13/19
Appearance - slightly hazy, dark straw color with little head (no more than half a finger)
Smell - blend of white wine grapes, light citrus fruits, and peppery spice
Taste - starts with a brut-ish dryness and white grape flavor. Notes of orange, apricot, and grapefruit appear before a light peppery spice hits towards the backend.
Feel - medium to ligther body. Starts somewhat watery before ending rather dryly.
Overall - nice blend of flavors up front but the Nelson hops really add that white wine flavor and dryness especially at the end. Solid flavors and worth a try. If I found it again, I'd have another.
