A fluffy grain bill with a kiss of honey-blossom sweetness is amplified by waves of refreshing hop additions, 6 varieties to be exact. Citra, El Dorado, and Mosaic lend notes of ripe papaya and clementine, while a heavy dose of Simcoe, Cascade, and Barbe Rouge fuse for additional notes of earthy pine and subtle strawberry. 47 IBU.

A thanks to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a slightly hazy golden color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus, berries. Taste is oranges, some grapefruit and strawberry, mild to moderate bitterness. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

Today is my lone day off in the midst of a sixty-six (66) hour workweek! I am not only "essential", I am downright critical at our local USPS P&DC plant. Three mandatory tens (10) interspersed with three voluntary twelves (12) since I am dedicated to my job. I beCAN in late-Mai & things have never slowed down! When I do have a day off, like today, I like to indulge in The CANQuest (tm) & this is no exception. I have CANother Levante CAN, but it needs a photo. I CAN make all of it happen for tomorrow's entry!

This seems like a dainty dish to be set before this king! I CANnot wait a moment longer to Crack! open the vent & start a slow, gentle C-Line Glug just in case it is not a hazy AIPA. Nope, I was CANrect when I added it! It foamed up beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, eggshell-white head with great retention, leaving lots of lacing in its wake. Color was a hazy (slightly more so than Flying Fish's Hazy Bones) Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose was redolent with hops, ranging from grapefruit to pine to orange/CANgerine to papaya & what was naughty Simcoe the kitty doing in the CANorner?!? Her business is none of my business, thank you. Mouthfeel was medium, but very soft on the tongue & in the mouth. I allowed it to roll around & warm as a result & while a pine-y cattiness was primary, I actually tasted the strawberry that they alluded to in the Notes! 8=O Dang, this was really tasty, especially for its style, which tends to me sweeter than I would like. Slowly, the citrusy grapefruit & orange beCAN to emerge, but it was pine that remained at the forefront. Finish was semi-dry to dry & that was expected. These NEIPAs do not make their bones on bitterness, but at least it was not tending towards sweet. I am now CANurious & CANxious about tomorrow's offering from them. YMMV.
