Levante Brewing Co. "Contemporary El Dorado"
16 fl. oz. can
$23.49/4-pk @ Worldwide Beverage, Phila., PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It's poured a very hazy deep golden body with an orange sheen. Visible particulate can be seen in suspension. The head is a finger's width of off-white foam. The aroma suggests a sweetish malt and tropical fruits. The flavor is much fuller than the aroma suggests with notes of nectarine, mango, sweet red berry, soft melon, and subtle touches of sweetened lemon. The malt is sweetish and lightly bready. A moderate bitterness balances it and it finishes mainly dry with some malt steadily fading and some lingering pine and pineapple. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp then smooth. The head held up really well and I still have a cream and completely solid surface covering. The lacing covers the glass from start to finish and looks like breaking waves from a Japanese art print. I overpaid for this by a lot but in the end it was worth it.
