Fruit Punch IPA
Crack that can and get ready to kick off the flyest festival of the year. Wait for that bass to drop as your taste buds plunge into a plush tropical puree of pineapple, strawberry, and tangerine with a spritz of freshly squeezed lime. Top it off with a creamy coconut whippet. Sip it… and let the Citra-Mosaic melody carry you through Simcoe-Centennial clouds to where the party's just starting. You have arrived!

Levante Brewing Co. "Festival Juice"
$20/4-pk at the brewery on 6/10/23
16 fl. oz. can coded "113 DAYS UNTIL NFL FOOTBALL #1414 13:29" and sampled on 17 June 2023
Notes via stream of consiousness: Whoah! This is an "INDIA PALE ALE BREWED WITH PINEAPPLE, STRAWBERRY, TANGERINE, COCONUT, KEY LIME" at 6.5% ALC BY VOL. It's also hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Centennial and contains lactose. Damn!!! It's poured a murky golden body with visible chunks floating around in suspension beneath a massive three finger's width of fluffy white head. After a little bit of time and some subsequent pours I've got a denser head that's just once finger thick. The aroma is fruity with acidic tangerine and lime, and soft berries. It's sweetish with a basic golden malt base, and balanced by resins and soft pine. It's pleasant and welcoming. The flavor follows with a delicious blend of sweetish malt, sweet berries, pineapple, and tangy citrus. I honestly can't really tell how bitter this is but it's certainly not overly bitter. I can taste/sense the lactose although I should note that I'm very sensitive to that for some reason. I only get the coconut here and there but I assume that it's supporting the impression of sweetness all the way through. In the end, however, the acidity, alcohol, and resinous/piney notes come forward allowing it to finish mainly dry. In the mouth it's got a gentle caress and bristle of carbonation before warming to become creamy and smooth across the palate. I'd call it medium bodied on the higher side. The head held up well from the start but it wasn't great, yet there's some very impressive lacing covering the whole glass from where I started to where I'm at now. With a little more carbonation I'm sure the head retention would be great but I prefer it as it is to get that great mouthfeel. This is an absolutely fantstic beer in my opinion with a great balance and a whole lot of flavor.

I’m usually not a “big “ fan of overly fruited beers. That being said, this is an exception! An overly fruited IPA that’s rather well balanced. The fruit isn’t overpowering, and the hops are noticeable. This definitely isn’t for everyone, but I think it’s well worth a try!
