Pours a very feisty deep bronze with a nice thick long lasting head.
This one was in a hurry to exit the can.
Great lacing & rocky tan head retention.
Nose is of faint noble hops, very light malts.
Taste is pretty spot on for the style, although a bit americanized. A little heavy handed on the hops, but not overly so.
It's very nice to see an old school style and have it taste pretty good.
I'd definitely buy it again and I recommend giving it a try if you have the chance.

No date on the can, but the phrase "a beer for brewers" has been stamped to the bottom.
Finger and a half of khaki head floats over a root beer-looking stew. It hangs out forever, never fully dissipating. Decent lacing; a good looking beer overall. I'm not picking up much on the nose; either I've got otherwise symptom-free COVID or the big 'festbier tankard I'm imbibing from isn't great for this sort of thing. I get my nose way down in there and pick up some breadiness. It's pleasant enough but there's really not much there. Tastes real nice, fortunately; malty like a brown ale up front before noble hop bitterness kicks in. Finishes smooth with light chocolate-y notes. Very tasty. Mouthfeel is prickly on the tip on the tip of the tongue, but then softens to a velvety smooth chew. Drinks wonderfully; a pretty great beer overall.
