Belgian wit brewed with orange peel, coriander and grains of paradise. Pours that pale, cloudy straw yellow that you expect from the style, with a head so dense and fluffy I almost missed the gnat nesting in it. Gnats not included, by the way; you've got to supply your own. Good retention and lacing makes for one pretty beer. Smells, largely, of Belgian yeast with some spicy notes. I suppose the spicy notes could also be from the yeast. Lightest of citrus notes around the margins. Smells as anticipated and sometimes that's a good thing. Tastes, like, exactly as it smells. That Belgian yeast just kinda takes over with the requisite clove notes. Not that this beats you over the head with it. Label says they used lemondrop and Pacific jade hops, but I'll be damned if I can taste them. Save those for the IPAs, yo. At 4.8% ABV, this one veers toward the lighter end of the witbier spectrum. Lively carbonation helps with the mouthfeel. I leave the room for a minute and more gnats have settled in, so if you fancy keeping some of those annoying fucks as pets, this might just be the beer for you!
