One of the best IIPAs I’ve had in illlinois. Nothing too crazy, which is a good thing i this case.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a growler on February 24, 2018. Look is a bright red amber with a thick head and sticky lacing. Smell and taste is dank bitter hops. Feel is medium to full in body.

32 oz growler emptied into a Pipeworks NvU snifter over two hours. Darker brown than I expect from a double IPA, mild lacing/foam. Smell and taste is sweet malty hop with slight tang. Well balanced and tasty.

Sampled at the brewery, quick review from notes.
Dark saturated orange, bright clarity, rising carb trails visible. Dense layer of surface foam, stuck around for awhile, and left drippy lacing on the sides of the glass.
Aroma was earthy with a light citrus edge, resiny bitterness came through in the taste quite a bit.
Big and bitter, earthy and resinous hop character. Sticky with a dry bitter finish that lingers. Not a lot of distinct hop flavor, just a wave of resiny bitterness and alcohol. One and done for me, I liked their IPA better.

Look - Deep gold with a nice creamy head
Smell - Citrusy but subtle for an Imperial IPA
Taste - Low end intensity - a good IPA
Feel - Carbonation was balanced and enhanced the flavors.
Overall - Feel it is over selling it as an IIPA. There has to be some real magic if hanging out at the low end of the ABV scale.
