This is a Dortmunder export style beer.
Light, white foam head. Light, clear gold look. Soft, very light spice note, to an off-dry, fruity, very lightly toasted malt aroma. Medium light bodied, with a good bite. Quite lightly toasted malt, with an off-dry, sweet spiced flavor.

On tap at Magnuson Cafe & Brewery. Poured into one of those odd "can glasses" (which was more easy to drink out of than I expected). Pours a lightly hazy, medium golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of biscuit and a touch of caramel malt, light citrus and light stone fruit, citrus and grassy hops. Flavor is biscuit and lightly caramel malt, mild citrus and toffee, citrus and lightly grassy hops. Finish has a nice light to moderate hop bitterness with residual caramel and biscuit malt. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. A very nice classic lager malt base with maybe a little more toffee than normal supplemented by well selected hops that add a little zest to the lager without breaking style. Nicely balanced and surprisingly flavorful for the 5% ABV. Apparently a tribute to a 1860s Northwest beer of the same name. I'm guessing this has a more hops than the original, but if so, it is better for it. This is a very promising introduction to this brewery, which is new to me.
