12oz bottle into pint glass.

Hazy orange yellow hue with a thin off white head that slowly settles to a thin cap.

Light grain with a little bit of fruit. The fruit doesn't smell like raspberries.

A mix of tart grain and some sort of fruit. Somewhat of an acerbic feel. Light bodied with high carbonation.

Sorry to say, an unenjoyable beer. The raspberry only shows up as an unknown fruit flavor.

Poured out a hazy golden brew with some floaters in it.One finger white head dissipates fast.Has a fairly yeasty smell to it,i smell no raspberries in it.Taste is tart slightly sweet,i taste no raspberries in it,,somewhat one dimensional.Mouthfeel is thin,,drinkability is ok.Not a bad brew but not one worth revisiting.

12oz. bottle

Pours a hazy peach color with a small white head that maintains. Mild lacing on the glass.

Mild bready and yeasty hefeweizen smell with a bit of spices. There is definitely a fresh raspberry smell, but it doesn't seem to compliment the hefe aromas and vice versa.

Mild hefeweizen beer taste upfront followed by a burst of raspberry. The flavors just don't quite come together and end up stepping on each other's toes. Dry from start to finish.

Medium-light body, well carbonated.

This beer showcases the reason why fruit/wheat beers are almost always of the American pale wheat variety. The hefe yeast and raspberry flavors just are not complimentary. The new forecast says that this one should just blow over.

Not a terrible beer. But I've had a much better Raspberry beer than this one.

It was very tart and over carbonated for me. Not a believable raspberry taste.
A nice light body, and clean feel.
Nice for summer time. I'd say try it.

Go for the Purple Haze by Abita!

The bill this as a "classic hefeweizen" with "a touch of raspberries." It hefeweizen, all right, classic it may be but mediocre definitely. And the raspberries do it no favors.

The beer pours a slightly off-color hazy yellow, like peach juice, with limited head and no lacing whatever. It has a powerful aroma, but it smells like a fruit perfume, like a bitter apricot.

The taste is aggressively Hefeweizen-ish - clove, apricot, and even a bit of banana (a flavor the brewery trumpets on the label), but it's all too much, a caricature of the style rather than a faithful example. There is some raspberry in it, but it is subtle and not entirely pleasant. The beer dies mid-sip and leaves almost no finish.

The mouthfeel is decent - it has some weight and a reasonable bite of carbonation, despite the smallish head up front.

This is a beer that might appeal to some fans of fruit beers, but is probably of limited interest to anyone else.
