Humlerøv is a saison beer with floral notes of elderflower. A real summer beer that tastes like more and more and more and more... The name Humlerøv is a tribute to the bumblebee beetle (Emus hirtus).
A legendary beetle that is one of Denmark's most beautiful and can be found on sunny days throughout the summer. The beer is brewed in collaboration with the think tank VILD - Denmark's think tank for biodiversity and wild nature.

Copenhagen 22/3 2021. 33 cl bottle from Brygshoppen web-shop. Quite strange insect with a very yellow arse on the label (an Emus Hirtus, I assume).
Pours murky, dirty yellow with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin but consistent layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet fruity odor mingling with stronger tart scent. A bit of sweet peach and elderflower. Earthy, yeasty cellar scent. Citrus and tart gooseberries.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a light sweetness followed by a stronger tart sourness. Aftertaste is sour with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is dry.
Decent fruity take on a Saison.
