Pours dark brown with a transparent look. Head is two fingers of tan foam. Aroma is toasty and mild roasty malts. Bready, earthy, and grassy malts and hops tag to the back. Flavor profile is roasty, bready, and earthy malts. Mild grassy and some sporadic sticky hops add some play atop the malts, but fall far shy of the forward hops of a black IPA. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is soft. Overall, malt heavy, but not overall heavy.

Had this beer at the brewery poured from tap into a tall tulip glass. Dark brown color with a fluffy beige head and good curtain lacing. Earthy smell and taste with a slight sweet chocolate background. Bit of a citrus flavor. Seems closer to a milk stout. Good beer but I am picky about my black IPAs.

On-draught @ the brewery:
Rich chocolate malt and dark malt sweetness is the core of this simplistic brew, with hints of unwelcome cola working their way in.
ABV is well disgusted (this beer's best attribute).
