Cloudy orange-colored brew with yellow head.

Nondescript macro-lagerish nose in which cranberry is not evident. Aroma is uninviting.

Flavors lack definition. This beer is a muddle that I won't return to.

Picked this up recently at Gary’s in Madison as I hadn’t had a beer from Lord Hobo in ages. I didn't expect a ton from this since it was an American Lager and this was perfectly serviceable as something to kick back with as the holidays wind down. There was plenty of cranberry here and this wasn't too tart as I wish there was some more depth on the palate!

The pour to this was typical of this type of beer as it was orange and thin with some fine haze to it. It appeared to have some syrup and this was reinforced in the nose as the cranberry was artificially tart and complemented by lemon pledge. Lemongrass and raspberry came through on the palate along with some sharp cracker in the malt and deep lime that was quite tangy. That fully emerged in the aftertaste as this was quite carbonated and almost felt like soda between the bubbles and the underlying sugary tone and slickness.

There wasn't a lot of alcohol in this as this wasn't a typical beer of it's type. Canned on 9/29, there wasn't any sediment in the liquid as this held up well for the time of the year that it was brewed for. As a diversion or an accompaniment to holiday fare, this was fine but it wasn't anything spectacular by itself. The label said that this "refreshes the pallet" but like that misspelling, this missed the mark by a bit. Have it once with some sauce or a holiday bird to wash them down...

Cranberry is an odd choice for a fruit in beer. Yeah maybe it’s fitting for the holidays but it still seems weird to me. That being said, I was still more than happy to pick up a can of this. It’ll be interesting to see how the cranberry plays over a base of a basic lager without much defining character. Let’s find out

Pours a hazy pale orange with 2 fingers of white head that fades away to nothing and leaves no lacing at all

It's pretty delicate in the nose but it strikes a nice balance, the subtle tartness of the cranberry cuts through the grain. I'm picking up on aromas of toasted grain, bready malt, tart cranberry, grassy hops, and light lemon rind

The cranberry has a more defined bite in taste, though I'm not sure it's exactly called for. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart cranberry, lemon, crackery malt, grassy hops, and light grain. The swallow brings notes of tart cranberry, lemon, toasted grain, bready malt, and lemongrass

A light medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a very crisp beer. Finishes dry and clean with a nice tartness

This one wasn't bad at all, a fun little treat actually. Not too complex and a little out there but overall enjoyable

From a 16 oz. can dated 10/08/21. Sampled oct 30, 2021.

The appearance is a typical lager. It is yellow-amber underneath a modest, fading white head. Some cloudiness.

The aroma is grainy and I don't pick up the promised cranberry. Oh it is subtle but i expected it to be more forward.

Light mouthfeel.

The taste is sweet and I do pick up more cranberry here. Slightly tart but not overwhelmingly so. It's not bad but not something I'll have a second time.
