Adirondak's saison has a cloudy golden colored body with a thin white head, served in a tulip glass.
The aroma is spicy with a lot of fruit, some spice, and just a bit of funkiness.
The flavor leans heavily on the fruit, with hints of pear and green apple that go along with a little bit of bready malt to back it up. Just a bit of graininess to it also. Some spiciness comes through next, and underneath it is a little bit of musty, funkiness, which is a surprise to find in a brewpub beer from a place that I've never heard of. Not bad.
The mouthfeel is another pleasant surprise. It certainly isn't on par with a great belgian saison, but it is light and effervescent enough that you can tell it's a saison.
Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an impressive mouthfeel and a solid flavor profile.

Got it on tap at the brewery/restaurant in Lake Placid on 8-10-10.
A: Body is dark yellow with a small white head. No visible carbonation and no lace left behind at all.
S: Faint nose. Touch of husky grain and a bit of honey. That's it.
T: Cereal grains up front with underlying fruit. Touch of earthy funkyness, presumably from a Belgian yeast strain. Finishes with a decent lemony bitterness that provides some balance.
M: Given the lack of visible carbonation, it feels surprisingly active in the bubble department.
D: Pretty good. Went well with both the calamari appetizer and the chipotle shrimp I had for dinner.

The beer pours a clear, gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It has a basic pale malt scent along with a nice fruity yeast aroma. The taste is good. It has a quaffable pale malt flavor that goes down easy with some light citrus notes and wonderful yeast character. It's a Summer crowd pleaser for sure. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a really good drinking beer. The yeast really adds a ton of fruity esters and lots of Belgiany character.

Poured a hazy dark straw hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured strong yeast esters and a touch of orange.
The taste consisted of a spicy yeast atop a light, but husky, grain.
The mouthfeel was average for the style with some residual spiciness.
Overall a good representation of the style. Easy to drink and rather refreshing.
