Enjoyed from a growler via Jungle Jims in a DFH snifter. This nice saison pours a light straw color with an orange glow and modest white head of dissipating foam leaving a very thin ring and no lacing. Nose of fruity esters of banana and citrus fruits of orange and lime peel, lightly funky yeast culture, and a touch of clove. Flavors surpass the aroma with lightly zesty citrus notes of orange, lemon, lime, and banana followed by a lightly sweet flavor, followed by a yeasty funky background blending with a spicy rye flavor that features a touch of white pepper in the aftertaste that I could not detect in the nose. Nice lightly effervescent mouth feel is prickly yet slick with a lightly dry citrus finish. Excellent.
A first for me from this new brewery---looking forward to trying more, and also hoping for darker and stronger brews as well (hint hint!).
