12oz can served in a Libby globe porter glass. Canned on 09/12/24 240822.
Appearance: Cloudy pink/red/gold color with in an initial thin white head that died back to nothing. No lacing.
Smell: Tart raspberry.....maybe a hint of vanilla under it all? But I could be fooling myself on the vanilla.
Taste: Tastes a lot like it smells, pretty much tart raspberries is almost all of the flavor. There is some other underlying flavor that might be the beer, but it's hard to pull out from all the raspberry.
Mouthfeel: Prickly but good carbonation, slick, wets the palate fully.
Overall / Drinkability: There is part of me thinking I'm drinking alcoholic raspberry spritzer rather than a beer - if there is a beer in this, it's really well hidden. Not sure sure I'd want another. It's not bad, but it's a bit one dimensional.

Tasty raspberry beer. I’m usually a fan of vanilla, and here it is fine but doesn’t really add anything or take away. Slightly sour, quite tasty.

12 ounce can, canned on 04/07/21. Served in an Urban Artifact chalice, the beer pours a reddish/purple color with not quite an inch pink head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like raspberries/raspberry jam and vanilla. For the most part the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some red wine-like flavors too but this brew is all about the raspberry and vanilla. Well, more raspberry than vanilla anyway. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's easy to drink and has a good amount of carbonation. If you like raspberry and/or tart fruity brews then give this one a try, I liked it!

Opaque red with purple tones for the body, pink head. Fresh picked raspberry nose with vanilla backing, get the seediness of the skin even. Super jammy raspberry taste with again the vanilla serving as the counterweight, almost has a sweet vinous aftertaste. Light and playfully tart with some sweetness. Great fruit beer for anytime, reminds me of some of new glarus' fruit beer

12oz can. Bottom is date stamped '05/15/2020'.
Very heavy looking, dark crimson red colored body. Brief one finger, pinkish head. The few scattered lacing spots left behind disappear in short order.
Very aromatic upon opening, with big raspberry fruit smell. The vanilla sits as a balance agent.
Taste is huge on raspberry, and again somewhat brought to a balance by the vanilla. Wine like tart. The fruit extends into the aftertaste but the result is rather dry.
Thicker mouth feel, with a cross of syrup and crispness. Good carbonation.
Not real complex as a kettle sour, but, man, the raspberry is expressive. Tasty but leaves me thirsty. One per session, please.

Pours a dark ruby. No head formation. The deep dark red has barely any light penetration.
Nose is super tart raspberry. Nothing more.
Taste is tart raspberry and mild malt and vanilla.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and medium carbonation. Light, drinkable, and bubbly.
A great Urban Artifact brew that captures the sweet tartness of raspberries perfectly.

In the presence of simplicity, don't confuse the kettle souring ale for lack of interest or complexity. With a heavy dose of raspberries and vanilla, Urban Artifact's nearly imperial statured sour ale basically balances itself.
Pouring with a heavy mauve silt, Gyroscope releases a blooming lavender stained crown while blossoming with a drool-worthy raspberry radiance. Hints of cider, citrus and wine add to the backdrop while a pastry-sweet taste of cereal, cream candy and raspberry tarte make a splash on the early palate.
The raspberry flavors only grow bolder on the middle palate, taking on true fruit puree intensity. With the vanilla adding a softness to make the raspberry seem "candied" and to also balance the bracing sourness. Trending superiorly acidic, background flavors of lime, lemon, grapefruit, red grape, dry cider and dry white wine all complement the ale as the sour candy flavors finish like taffy.
Medium bodied but somewhat fuller for sour ale, this raspberry smoothie sour ale hits all the right buttons while somehow being a one-trick pony. It goes to show that bigness, when balanced properly can carry its own built-in complexity. This one does so while glowing with wine rot and raspberry essence in a medium short, but refreshing sangria-like taste.
