The humble fruitcake has made its way into many countries' culinary traditions, varying widely across each. This Fruit Tart is our take on this classic holiday dessert, bursting with notes of ginger and sliding into a bed of nuts and vanilla.

Aroma gives off hefty malts, with the cherry and date coming through. The taste is overpowered by sour intensity, with hints of orange, ginger, and vanilla poking through. On the back end, complexities of pecan and dates start to show themselves. Overall, the sour is overpowering, and really removes any hope of deep flavor. Not something I'd probably get again.

16 ounce can, don't see a canning date but pretty sure this was released over the past week or 2. Served in an Urban Artifact chalice, the beer pours a somewhat clear orange/amber color with not quite an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. The ginger hits in the aroma first, and there's also some vanilla, nuts, and orange peel noticeable. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some dark fruit/dates and grainy malt/oat flavors noticeable too. As with the aroma, I think the ginger stands out in the flavor but it doesn't overpower the others. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, certainly worth a try if you get the chance!
