Marionberry is more than just a blackberry, it is the height of blackberry decadence, a showcase of Pacific Northwest terroir and human understanding of fruit breeding & genetics. As brewers we wanted to experience the fullest expression of this fruit flavor by fermenting with two different yeasts, both made with cutting edge gene modifying technology. This yeast version, Star Party, was modified by adding in genes for increased Thiolization, which create increased and varyingly complex fruit aromas! More is More with Star Party!

16 ounce can, canned 02/06/23. Served in an Urban Artifact chalice, the beer pours a dark reddish/purple color with not quite an inch pink head that didn't stay around for too long. Pretty much no lacing. The brew smells like marionberries, vanilla, and some tropical fruit. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some citrus peel and earthy flavors noticeable too. It's sweeter compared to the Sundew version, and has more of an overall flavor kick. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's coating and smooth with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, definitely interesting to see how this compares to the version with the Sundew yeast. Hoping Urban Artifact does more experiments like this in the future.
