Developed to showcase natural complexity and sweetness, the desert fruit ale is a decadent delight brewed with real figs, pears, and golden raspberries. This unique dessert style brew is an adventure worth submitting and savoring.
Mt Giona is one of the steepest slopes in the Balkans. The area’s rich biodiversity is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. According to legend, even the demigoddess Selene once drove her moon chariot to visit a shepherd living on the mount.

Poured from the 8 oz. can into a tulip. This was the 3rd of the 4 pack.
Hazy sunburst with an egg-shell head that dissipates almost immediately. Inviting looking beer. Ridiculous legs as this beer is swirled!
Nose of, basically, an orchard. Sweet stone fruits, especially ripe peaches, is what I get.
Mouthfeel is heavy with limited to no carbonation.
Taste reflects the nose with a lot of sweetness and stone fruits.
Overall a fantastic beer, but one is probably enough.

8 ounce can, canned on 03/01/25. Served in a Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy golden/orange color with about a half inch off-white head that fizzled away pretty quickly. Small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, it smells mostly like golden raspberries along with some pears, honey and figs. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of a general sweet spiciness which reminds me of nutmeg but I really can't say it's that for sure. There's also a bit of tart fruit noticeable but leans a little more sweeter tasting. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was an enjoyable enough brew, certainly worth trying if you get the chance!

When Urban Artifact puts a beer in those short, squatty cans then you know that trouble awaits. Trading in their midwest fruit tart ale for dessert fruit gives this fig, pear and golden raspberry ale a different glow.
Pouring an innocent enough hazy gold, Mt. Giona pours nearly still and swoons the senses with a juicy pear and berry perfume. With a backdrop of sweet scents, the strong booze has the ale capturing an essence of apple brandy. Honey, simple syrup and muddled fruits bring a sweeter taste while the blend of fig, pear and berry swirl for a savory, juicy, sweet and apple-like character to the middle palate. Rising alcohol warmth revisits the brandy character as the ale falls into a grappa sweet finish and a spicy sherry aftertaste.
Full bodied for sour ale, the beer is a slow sipping session meant for after dinner digestive and savoring with friends in the dessert or elsewhere.
