Pours clear, gold in color, with minimal head. Taste is big herbal hops and light toasted malt. Really bitter, medium light bodied with high carbonation. A bit too bitter for my liking. Makes it a bit rough to go down. Different than most in the style.

This beer and its big brother Charlie Firpo are inspired by the Bud Spencer & Terence Hill Classic "Odds and Evens" from 1978.
I really loved the film so I had to try both of these beers - fell into the propaganda's trap right away.
This Johnny Firpo is an american (?) blond ale, quite heavily hopped which is nice. Altogether I do not find anything to criticize with this beer, only to remark why do all heavily-hopped Hungarian beers taste alike? Is it because all are made from pellets? Or is it the imported nature of those hops? I do not know. And I'm not even sure that there is anything about them that I should be claiming about (shame on me, for being a Hungarian myself as well...).
Still, if I compare them to American beers of the same sort, they are different somehow.
But the. Again - should they be the same as their overseas counterpart? Are they supposed to be so? Similarly like Bud and Terence, they played Americans in Florida though they were Italians - but who gave a damn? They were good for what they did. And this beer is good for just what it is. Enjoy.
