The appearance was a slightly murky almost dark brown color with some dark hues of orange along the sides. Some lace formed after a bar pour's slim off white head fell off.
The aroma had some nuts, roasty with some dark toast, earthy hops, light grassy hops and some toffee.
The flavor tried to mesh all of the prior mentioned aromas together and somewhat did for the most part but it did have a bit more unbalancing toffee coming forward the more I sipped. Mild aftertaste of nuts, toast and toffee.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sipping to sessionable in between quality about it. Decent carbonation and ABV. Finish of toffee, nuts and toast.
Overall, okay American brown ale, but I wasn't entirely thrilled with the flavor. Maybe again depending what else was served.
