473 mL can from the LCBO; coded 613 3034 and served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy and turbid, its body orange-yellow in colour and capped with just under two inches of sudsy white head. It holds together for the better part of five minutes, soon dropping down to a thin collar and filmy cap, with a delicate ring of soapy lace adhering to the glass. Mango is prominent on the nose, but there's also notes of muddled orange and citrus peel, with hints of pineapple, orchard fruit, bubble gum and grassy hay.

It's not bad: the mango isn't overtly dominant, and the hop bitterness won't let you forget you're drinking an IPA (vs. a fruit beer). Mango, grapefruit and lemon peel at first, with dank, grassy hops and pink grapefruit bitterness dissipating into a mildly fruity aftertaste of mango and citrus pith. There's lactose in this, but its sweetness is faint, largely overwhelmed by hop bitterness. Medium-full in body, with assertive carbonation that adds a firm bite to this brew's juicy, satisfying mouthfeel. Good drinkability - I could knock back a couple of these without a fuss.

Final Grade: 3.69, an acceptable B grade. Brock Street's Mango Tango Hazy IPA is a mixed bag - I could see hardcore mango lovers being less than impressed with its mango factor, but personally I am really digging its pink grapefruit hop bitterness. It's a better product than their Tropical Thunder IPA, but as a beer geek with limited enthusiasm for fruited IPAs, I don't see myself revisiting this on a regular basis. Still worth a look, especially if you're in the market for a mildly fruity, non-milkshake IPA to enjoy this summer.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN.

Appearance - Very hazy, mango orange n color. A finger plus of yellowy whote head that is loose and foamy with moderate staying power. Looks like mango juice or a shake. Includes lactose.

Smell - Lots of mango in the nose, but not an overwhelming amount with some other citrus and a slightly weedy backbone.

Taste - Plenty of mango but definitely an IPA with sufficient bitterness. Decently wheat backbone with a touch of weedy flavors and a hint of grapefruit or lemon underneath.

Mouthfeel - Quite full bodied and dense. Sort of juicy but not entire a juice bomb either.

Overall - Solid IPA, but filling and not really crushable. The mango flavor is good, although not quite as sweet as I expected. This is both a good and bad thing, with the lactose involved, think that leaning sweeter might help this out. Still worth a tipple and good to see this brewery adding beers to their lineup and getting better distribution.
