At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, from their boxset at my favourite LCBO at The Roundhouse Centre in nearby Windsor. My fifth beer from the Whitby brewery.

473 mL can included in Brock Street's Backyard Party Pack, purchased at the LCBO. Coded 839 4142 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy pale golden colour, producing nearly two fingers of foamy white head that recedes within five minutes, give or take. Several delicate swaths of spidery lace have been draped onto the glass afterwards, with a frothy collar and patchy cap lasting on - looks great so far. The aroma is muted, consisting of grainy malts, sourdough, appleskin and vaguely citrusy hops.
The flavours are comparatively satisfying - hints of grainy malts overlap with lemon pith, melon and grassy, floral, grapefruit-pithy hops. Pithy aftertaste that persists longer than expected for such a light beer. Light-bodied, with aggressively sharp carbonation that prickles the palate with each sip; feels frothy and fizzy, very crisp and highly refreshing. I could totally drink a few of these in a row.
Final Grade: 3.76, a B+. The underwhelming aroma started things off on the wrong foot, but each sip made me like Brock Street's Jam Session more and more. The flavours are not amazing, but considering the low abv I'd say they're more than satisfactory - and I especially like that lingering pithy bitterness. Too often these session IPAs come off as watery hop tea, but this one has enough character to allow it to stand out in the crowd. I've been critical of many Brock Street products, but this is a good one that I'd recommend to anyone interested in ultra-light pale ales.
