Dark black with almost no head. Smell is mostly pure chocolate, so much so that it's hard for me to believe they didn't add any chocolate to this beer. The first sip had kind of a soapy taste, but I'm not sure why because I didn't get that in any other sip. A little bit of bitterness that seems like a mix of hoppy and roasty, but not overpowering. Probably slightly on the sweet side of balanced, but definitely not overly sweet and not cloying. Pretty good, I think I'll have another.

Poured jet black with a quickly dissipating mocha brown head. Semi-sweet chocolate, plum, rye, earthy tones, off the smell, in the taste take all of that and add sweetened cream, slight almond and fig. Right in the middle of stout bodies, very viscous and smooth. Good intensity of flavor. Really well crafted stout

Canned 12/10/18; drank 12/16/18 @ the Yarchives.

Midnight black appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge dark khaki head; decent lace.

Milk chocolate, cream, mild hazelnut & faint fresh earth notes in the nose.

Creamy, thick mouthfeel.

Milk chocolate & faint peppermint flavors up front; mild hazelnut & fresh earth notes on the finish. Almost no booze heat.

A robust, flavorful stout...I kind of don't believe that there's no extra ingredients here. A nice showing.
