Ocean Key is a bright and fluffy milkshake from Hop Butcher. It has a distinctive “ocean” bite from the defined pine notes and bursting lime zest. It is all rounded out into a complete milkshake IPA resulting in a smooth, zesty, and herbaceous ale. One of the more pronounced milkshakes I have had to date.

I’m loving this flavor combination from HB for this milkshake. It still has the strong vanilla base as all their milkshakes have, but the pineapple and lime are distinct on the pallet too. A great summer brew and glad they’re adding more flavors to the milkshake lineup. HB for me dials in the sweetness range perfectly too. Other milkshakes can become too cloying for me. Perhaps it’s the tanginess of the limes and pineapple that balance the sweetness well for me. Worth picking up again!

Bought this one at Orange and Brew. This one had a big pineapple hit up front. There was some lime at the end but most of it was buried by the vanilla. It was thin for a milkshake IPA but for me that was fine. I don't think the flavor combo worked very well. Not my fav Hop Butcher.

Canned 5/5/20; drank 5/8/20 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque orange/yellow appearance.

A rough pour yielded a nice white head; strong lace.

Pineapple, vanilla & lime notes in the nose.

Creamy medium mouthfeel.

Pineapple & vanilla flavors up front; lime notes on the finish, which got stronger as this warmed.

A tropical delight; it's sweet, but very tasty.
