Light gold to yellow in color with a hazy complexion. There’s an inch of densely packed off white on top. Moderate, soapy lacing. The aroma is of earthy to green veggie hops. I’m tasting earthy to vegetal and grassy hops. The mouth is light, quaffable, and refreshing.

A bit lighter on every front compared to the Beach Casual, it‘s a very nice NEIPA, not as refined compare to some other creations by Hop Butcher. However I would rate this another great beer from a great brewer.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of orange, pineapple, guava and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a subtle bitterness.

Canned 7/27. More of a standard IPA to me. It’s not cloudy, and it’s not super citrusy on either the nose or the taste. Very golden/bronze in color. Some citrus notes on the smell and taste, but not extremely strong. An assertive piney bitterness on the back end. Crisp, refreshing, and lighter bodied than most NEIPAs. To me, this is a “Midwest IPA”, as it has characteristics of East and West coast styles. Plus the name cries out Chicago.

Foggy pale gold with a white collar and lacy a plenty. Pine and earthy hops mingle with bubblegum, lime and pithy grapefruit in then nose. Taste is less defined, bland bubblegum and piney hop ball rolling over some zesty citrus and slight grass, just kind of boring. Feel is hop forward but not haze or crispness, and just slowly peters out.

This is more an old style IPA and not the hazes that Hop Butcher is known for. This one is a solid IPA that is more piney and crisp. It's almost like a pilsner that has been really hopped up. Not bad for hot summer day.

Canned 5/19/20; drank 5/26/20 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice, noisy off-white head; strong tree-rung lace.
Bubblegum, peach & mild caramel notes in the nose.
Sticky medium mouthfeel.
Bubblegum & pine flavors up front; mild caramel notes on the finish.
An old-model IPA; you could do worse, but it's not worth tracking down.

Not sure the canning date but purchased fresh 5/21/20
Consumed 5/23/20
I love the Chicago dialect reference in the name. I’m wonder if people outside of Chicago get the reference. I usually find that I don’t like the the lower abv IPAs as much as their usual 7.5DIPAs, but this one hits the mark for me. The smell really pops with some berry notes as the can mentions. Tasting it, there’s the hint of berry (certainly not like an adjunct beer) but nice hop balance and some sweetness to it. It has a full mouthfeel too. Great beer and worth getting again.
