With a rip of Nelson Sauvin and a rap of El Dorado hops, Hop Butcher For The World takes these complementary hop profiles and creates a tasty, candied and vinous accented pale ale from them
Pouring pale and golden straw, Rip Rap floats a creamy stark white froth before teasing the nose with tangy citrus, tropical fruit and a pep of white wine with an herbal nod to green herb, geranium and spruce. Gently sweet once on the tongue, the session opens up with notions of honeysuckle, shortcake and wafer in an early malt introduction.
As the sweetness relaxes on the middle palate, the hops blossom into a full flavor bouquet of passionfruit, papaya and kiwi along more citrusy flavors of white grapefruit, lemon and then into white grape. All seemingly candied in their fruit cocktail of flavor, the taste steers into a smooth bitterness of lemongrass, verbena, sassafras and hemp.
Medium bodied, creamy and trending semi-dry, the ale is a soft but balanced hazy ale that's just as refreshing as it is flavorful for all the ripping and rapping that anyone would need.

Crowler filled 6/21/20; drank the same night. The beer was released in cans on 6/4/20.
Opaque orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big bright white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Tangy grapefruit, dry grass & faint cream notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Tangy grapefruit & dry grass flavors; mild cream notes on the finish.
A bit too tangy & dry for me, but it had a nice mouthfeel & wasn't unpleasant. This will do in a pinch.

Pours half grapefruit half orange juice with a big, frothy, white head. Leaves lots of lacing.
Big smell of citrus mango, melon, tangerine, malt. Can also detect dankness and the smell.
Taste of candied citrus and mango hops. A good amount of bitterness and dankness with that garlic/onion that I like. Finish is dry. Pepper in finish. This stuff is right up my alley!
A super soft mouth feel with a little spice in the end.

This is a pale ale that uses Nelson Sauvin & El Dorado hops. I like that it is only 5.75 abv. For a lighter beer it has some bigger hop flavor. This is a Juicy pale ale with a touch of dankness and a touch of some tartness. Some grape on finish. Very smooth and flavorful for a lower abv pale ale.
