This one had a nice hoppiness to it with a pleasant amount of dank too. Some grapefruit, lime, and orange in the aroma and taste. A bit boozy but very good.

16oz can, dated 12.08.2020, poured into a stemless wine glass.

The beer pours a very hazy golden straw color, amber hues with about two fingers of white head, modest retention with nice lacing. The aroma is nice, floral, tropical, a bit boozy, lots of orange peel and soft fruits, mango, peach, sweet yeast, pale grains, a bit of mineral water though as it warms it does become more boozy. The flavors are good, lots of citrus, peach, white grape, grassiness, sweet floral bouquet which becomes more earthy, bitter and dank as it warms with a touch of hop spice and a nice backbone of sweet dough and yeast. The mouthfeel is good, coating, lively, crisp medium body that has a warm and dry finish.

Verdict: A nice DIPA from Aslin/Hop Butcher. 8% tends to the ABV threshold in which these "hazy" IPAs begin to demonstrate a more assertive fusel alcohol character and this beer falls into that trap, especially within the aroma, however, the flavors are a lot smoother and more vibrant. Lots of nice bright tropical elements contrasted with greener earthy qualities makes for a very nice IPA.
