A Nectaron, Columbus, Centennial, Citra, Simcoe & Mosaic- hopped Quadruple India Pale Ale.
You’ll find another annual tradition for us in the form a collab beer concepted and brewed with our friends at Bottle Logic. Seriously love those guys and love rocking brews with them, even mid-pandemic and having to do so virtually. This quadruple IPA is a collective first for both of us and (dun dun dunnn) pours on the clear side. Brace yourself for big melon juice layered on those west coast vibes that all of us know and love from back when you first fell in love with IPAs.

A quad ipa that doesn't turn into a resin bomb, nice! Cloudy orange with a pearl white head. Taps into the best of both coasts: bitter piney hops with slight resin of the west and huge citrus and softness from the east, most felt in the mouthfeel actually. Really the smoothest quad ipa I may have ever had. Taste has this set up too: melon, huge orange, lime, lemon zest, pineapple and mango up front, hops finish. Slight hints of booze, but in a smooth way. Smell is a huge fruit explosion with pine, nice integration. Nice work here to harness the massive beer without leaking booze or resin or sweetness

I have found that HB triple IPAs are better after a couple of weeks as the heat dies off, and the same holds true for this “quad IPA.” I wish there was more on the nose. I get the nice bitter hops and citrus. Their doubles are brighter to me. I wonder if the age matters here though? It has a beautiful hue with lacing that stays around. The beer is super smooth and full bodied on the tongue. I think the booze it super well hidden for the abv. I wish they released 12oz cans though for these sort of beers and their pastry stouts. A great beer though and would buy again when looking for a triple or quad IPA.

Good quadruple! Lands somewhere between a neipa and a west coast ipa for me. Thick and hazy crawling with resinous hop flavor. New and interesting. A bit more balance would make it excellent.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on December 20, 2020. Quadruple India Pale Ale brewed in collaboration with Bottle Logic Brewing. Hopped with Nectaron, Columbus, Centennial, Citra, Simcoe and Mosaic.

I was really looking forward to trying this quadruple form Hop Butcher. It's more a west coast IPA. The aroma has a lot of tropical fruit in it and it come through as a pleasant smell. The taste is where the pine comes through. There is also a nice bitterness at the end. The alcohol is well hidden but it's there.
