Received this beer from a recent BIF, thank you, Jay! The beer is 44 degrees and served in Nonic. The pour of the beer created a three-fingered head with excellent retention. The bright white head is airy, creamy, and foamy. The glass is covered in lacing from the head dissipating. The color of the beer is SRM 4, pale straw with golden yellow hues. The beer is somewhat hazy. The appearance of the beer is stellar.
The first quick sniff of the beer I smell berries and dankness. Nosing further, I detect lightly toasted malts, oranges, pineapple, and candied lemon peels. One last inhales from the glass I sense floral and a touch of herbal.
The whacky hop profile gives way to interesting flavors. I first taste berries, tangerines, a fruity sweetness, and lightly toasted malts. On the second sip, I taste guava, pineapple, a hint of grapefruit, and lemons. As I consume the beer, I am reminded of passionfruit and dankness.
The mouthfeel of the beer is slightly astringent and crisp.
The body of the beer is medium, medium carbonation, and a fuller finish.
I was unsure of my thought with these hops. The first few sips I got a lot of berries and tangerine with a hint of grapefruit. As the beer opened up more I realized the depth the hops brought. I was unsure if I was going to enjoy it, but I kept going back and sipping. The malt profile is firm, allowing the hops to showcase themselves. In the end, I did enjoy this beer with unique flavors.

This one is a collaboration with Cellarmaker. It's kind of a mix between a West Coast IPA and an East Coast IPA. It's definitely got some lemon to it along with some berry and grapefruit. There is also a grassy and floral taste to it. It would be a nice summer beer but I wouldn't seek this one out again.

Canned 3/16/21; drank 3/23/21 @ the Yarchives.
Semi-opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice bright white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Dry wheat, mild clove & faint lemon notes in the nose.
Sticky, medium mouthfeel. Table sugar & dry wheat flavors up front; mild lemon & faint clove funk on the finish.
This is sadly a return to the unfortunate era when Hop Butchers IPAs tasted like saisons; nothing against saisons, but the yeast isn't right for an IPA. Claiming that Cellarmaker (who are awesome) showed them some new techniques seems like passing the blame. Not a winner.

Canned 3 days ago, and the hops is still sharp. The cans predicts lemonade tasting notes, and I agree. Also a Shandy, but with a heavy hops burn. I'll bet in a few weeks has settled some, but I'm not a fan of lemonade-y beers, so I'd pass on this.
