Collaboration with Corporate Ladder Brewing

Simcoe, Strata & NZH-102- hopped + Phantasm Triple India Pale Ale

A hazy TIPA jam with our friends at Corporate Ladder out of the Sunshine State. Experimental in nature thrice times over. NZH-102, a new hop without a formal name we're keen on from our friends at NZ Hops Ltd. Phantasm, which was last seen in Swirling Phlourish, but still newer to us...and an experimental yeast pitch from our mad scientists in arms at Berkeley Yeast bringing even more thiol fortification in addition to what phantasm brings to the table. Think orange starburst, pineapple gummies and Sunny D.

Well the name does say Florida citrus and there sure is a lot of it in this one. Lots of orange both in the taste and the smell. Also getting some tangerine too. No hiding the alcohol on this one as it's pretty prevalent in the taste.

Canned 4/21/21; drank 4/24/21 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque bright orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big white head; strong, frothy lace.

Orange citrus, cane sugar & mild dry grass notes in the nose.

Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Orange citrus & mild cane sugar flavors up front; spring water, mild dry grass & faint strawberry notes on the finish. Mild booze heat emerged as this warmed.

I'm usually a bit put off by "triple" IPA's, but this one was good. I'd have another!

Pours like dull, opaque oj. Tons of hops on the nose with background citrus notes. Love the balanced taste, especially in comparison to many uber sweet ipas being produced nowadays. Definitely hides the high abv well. Creamy and moderately carbonated.
Really nice beer, glad to enjoy it.
