This is a Strata hopped IPA that was made in collaboration with Smashing Pumpkins. It looks like this was a single hopped beer, kind of unusual for Hop Butcher. The was a lot of berry in the aroma and the taste. A little too sweet but it was a good beer

I was excited to find this guy a week after the release bc I know it was a more limited release. It’s very cool to do a beer in collaboration with one of my favorite bands too. I know strata has been around for a little while, but I couldn’t name it based on smell or taste like I can other hops. Given the 6.5% ABV, I was thinking it wouldn’t be my favorite as I tend to like the doubles the most. This comes in about as I’d expect. I like the faint strawberry on the nose. There’s a perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness for me. It’s a great summertime IPA for sure. I wish it had a bit more going on though to be word class.

I enjoyed the beer. Another solid offering from Hop Butcher for the World, which is no surprise. Also, got me started on deep relisten of the Pumpkins catalog.

Canned 5/25/21; drank 5/29/21 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull yellow/orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice off-white head; strong lace.
Tangy orange citrus & cane sugar notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Tangy orange citrus & spring water flavors up front; dry wheat & grapefruit peel notes on the finish.
The soft mouthfeel is nice, and it's above average, but it's a bit too tangy for me to truly love.

16oz can dated 05/25/21 "Cheers to 30 years!" And poured into a tulip glass shows an opaque, dirty yellow body with, at best, a ring of bubbles at the edge and random webbed lacing.
Aroma of strawberry is more than a mental influence, yet short of clearly being.
Flavor is more nuanced, strawberry and tropical fruit lead the green wave of earthiness in a medium feel.
Overall, not bad, but ugly.
