Yellow colored with a hazy complexion. There’s a solid inch of densely packed beige on top. The aroma is of grapefruit, lemon, and lime. The flavor is of grapefruit and bitter unripened melon. The mouth is smooth and inviting.

Pours orange with an opaque translucency. Head is two fingers of dense white foam with good retention. Aroma is pine, red berry, grapefruit, and mango with a slight hop burn to go along with it. Flavor profile brings forward mango, grapefruit, and orange zest with late red berry and pine hop notes. Mouth feel is medium-thick with a creamy texture to start. It develops a moderately sharp effervescence towards the finish, but not quite enough to make it drink harsh. Overall, some solid hop play in this one.

I received this from @fbarber as a "mystery beer" in the NBS BIF #14 and reviewed it "blind" on the NBW thread. This review is taken from that post. Canned on 9/22/2021. Poured into a tulip glass. It pours a dense, turbid, muddy orange color with a large, fluffy, milk-white head and and thick, clinging lacing. The nose is big and fruity with pineapple, tangerine, ripe melon, and perhaps a hint of lactose or oats. Super fragrant. The taste opens with tropical notes of pineapple and tangerine but it's well-balanced by tart lemon and grapefruit and by the strong presence of white wine grape from the Nelson Sauvin hops. It finishes with a nice, dry, grassy bitterness. The mouth feel is great: it's viscous and creamy for the 6.5% ABV with pleasant carbonation. It's very drinkable; a second pour is not an issue and would be welcome. I love the mouth feel! For 6.5% it's nicely creamy and pleasantly carbonated. It's very drinkable. (4.5). Overall, Meet the Nelsons is superb single-hopped Nelson IPA. Hop Butcher should be proud of this offering!

Canned 9/22/21; drank 9/25/21 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque orange appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; thick lacing.
Strawberry, melon & dry grass notes in the nose; wow!
Medium thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Fresh melon & dry ganja flavors.
The nose promised nirvana, but the taste delivered merely "very good". I'd have another, but I'm still a tad disappointed...

I love the smell on this one. The taste follows with a great bitterness and balance. I'm liking the lower abv here too than their normal DIPAs. With HB's new location opening up soon, I'm hoping we'll get more variety each week too like this one. Worth picking up again!
