Had on tap. Dark brown opaque body with a brown ring. This was a waste of pappy barrels, as this did everything it could top cover up that beautiful barrel character. Sweet booze of the rum/mead barrel come across strongly in the smell and taste, bourbon, molasses, and barley make up the nose, where taste also has caramel and subtle roast. Very warm verging on hot feel, muddled barrel with big malt textures washing over.

Hazy mahogany with a short khaki head settling to a bubbly ring.

Solid. Rich. Mature. While heavy on the bourbon, it's countered by a pleasant spice and molasses, and even a stouty roast and Reisen exhale.

Bonus points for the absolutely perfect name. It really just hit me right in the feels.
