L-Turbulent hazy gold with a nice frothy white head

S-Jumping out of the glass as I type this and it sits arms length away...closer to the nose it is as vibrant as expected...a lot of fresh citrus on the aroma...ripe oranges, tangerines, and pink grapefruit...also some passionfruit and a touch of papaya...splendid aroma..

T-On the taste it's the papaya, mango and passion fruit that sticks out...some lighter citrus but not like on the aroma...maybe a touch of peaches as well...pretty rich and sweet...

F-Medum body..lower carbonation...

O-This is bordering on too sweet for me but overall it brings some excellent aromas and flavors from the hops.

Canned 3/7/23 (3 months ago)

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (0-5% clarity) medium to dense golden-peach color with a massive white head. SRM of 7-8. (4.25)

Aroma: Strong aromas of tropical blueberries, papaya, melon with a light green, berryflower aroma. (3.75)

Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of orange, tropical berries, papaya, melon. Orange Creamsicle and smooth berry purée meet a creamy and rich malt body. Sweet off the end with tropical berries. (4.00)

Feel: Heavier bodied, carbonation to match. Smooth, heavy, tropical, and leans sweet. Creamy and smooth. (3.50)

Compared to BlackStack Thread Count 6/2023: Pours darker, hazier, stronger head. Milder aromas. More tropical berries, orange creamsicle. Less juicy grapefruit, papaya, pineapple and mango. Heavier and more malty

Compared to Eagle Park Joint 6/2023: Pours darker, milder head. Milder aromas. More sweet melon, papaya, berries. Less citrus, dank pine. Heavier and sweeter.

Overall: Decent offering from Hop Butcher. Three months old and may have been better fresh. Lots of tropical berries, orange creamsicle with hints of berryflowers. Heavier and sweet. A little too heavy and sweet for my taste as the sweet and creamy malt body overtake the the hop flavors.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Pours a hazy (shocking!) golden-auburn topped by over a finger of off-white foam. The nose comprises lettuce, onion, pine sap, grapefruit peel, and a bit of orange pith. The taste ditches the burger toppings and leans into the citrus more, though with some additional pine (this time in needle form), some dried caramel in the background, and a touch of grass for good measure. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Not a shining example of the Butcher's wares. (Also, the canning date of 2/22/22 makes me wonder why they didn't go for a Lerner and Rowe name, amiright?)

A - Pours a hazy deep gold with a creamy one finger white head. Tons of sticky lacing.

S - Aroma is orange, grapefruit and mango.

T - The taste is orange, pineapple, cantaloupe, grapefruit and bitter resinous hops.

M - Medium body with medium carbonation. Creamy mouthfeel with a soft dry finish.

O - Another really nice Hop Butcher offering.

Definitely lives up to the green. Ripe, juicy, dank, citrusy, and bitter. Yet another excellent example from the brewery that might be the king of Chicago area IPAs.

poured from a 16oz can into a spiegelau IPA glass. pours a hazy orange with three fingers of frothy white foam head. lovely aromas of papaya, mango, melon and orange. taste follows with the riwaka and nelson working together in tremendous harmony here. the simcoe adds a nice bit of pine and bitterness. smooth and creamy medium-full mouthfeel. really enjoyed this one.
