Citra- hopped Saltwater Taffy India Pale Ale brewed with sea salt and vanilla.
Taffy Pull is a fun new creation brought to you by the brew crew - born out of a childhood love of saltwater taffy. They let the hops bring the fruit, but brought in some vanilla and a touch of sea salt. Really fun stuff that's tasting like sweet mango nectar, sliced oranges and creamy nougat.

Canned 4/4/22; drank 4/12/22 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a big off-white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Vanilla & strawberry candy notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Yeah, it tastes like strawberry laffy taffy...and not much like beer.
Over the top & unpleasant after a few sips.

I love my 3 day old Hop Butcher releases in Chicago! This one I thought could be really weird or knock it out of the ballpark, and for me it really hits. As usual their hazy IPAs look, feel and smell fantastic. The vanilla milkshakes especially smell wonderful. This has less vanilla than their milkshakes on the nose and when drinking. The milkshakes can be too much for me sometimes (or maybe perfect in a 12oz format if that ever comes?) But, balance here with the sweet and fruit really works. I don't know if its the salt that helps bring it together with the connection to taffy, but I do taste it here. A great hazy DIPA and fun concept. Worth seeking out.
