Canned 3/11/25

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity), medium orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, tangerine, tropical melon. Smooth and tropical berries, and mango underneath.

Flavor: Strong flavors of orange, juicy, tangerine, mandarin, orange, with some tropical melon, berries mango. Juicy, tropical and moderately sweet.

Feel: Medium body, strong, carnation, finishes, tropical, but fairly cleaner than expected.

Compared to BlackStack DDH Loud Pack 5/25: Pours darker, stronger aromas. More tangerine, tropical berries, mango. Less pineapple, orange citrus.

Compared to Hop Butcher Double Pepperoni 5/25: Pours identical. More tropical berries, orange. Less guava, lime, grapefruit. Sweeter.

Overall: A 10-year anniversary IPA. It has similar hops but instead Simcoe. Fantastic mandarin orange, tropical melon, berries, and mango notes. Complex and robust hop flavors, but still drinking not overly sweet at 8.5%. Fantastic anniversary IPA from Hop Butcher.

Deep, darker orange in color. Nice white head. Nose is sweet, citrusy, but nothing I can put my finger on to say it smells like XXX fruit. Taste is sweet then bitter. Again nothing indicates a specific citrus fruit. Decent bitterness which is the high point of this beer.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy orange-yellow color with a small dense head of white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time and leaving a decent showing of foamy lace rings on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is super sweet, with tons of mango, papaya, tangerine, melon, passionfruit, and pineapple. Along with these smells comes a strong showing of a doughy smell, mixed with notes of fruity candies and lots of sugar. Other smells of a light grapefruit and orange creamsicle smell are there as well, producing a very sweet aroma overall.
Taste – The taste follows the nose rather well with a big showing of tropical fruits of mango, papaya, pineapple, and tangerine mixed with other smells of apricot and peach and a big showing of a rock candy like sweetness. At the same time there is a strong showing of a bready and malty flavor paired with a touch of grapefruit and herb. The hop get a bit stronger in nature as the taste advances, being joined by a bit of a yeast cake and grassy flavor. Toward the end, the sweet seems to surge as more apricot and peach come to the tongue, leaving one with a very sweet and malty, moderately hopped taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – the body is thick and chewy with a moderate carbonation level. For the big and sweet flavors and the big nature of the tastes, the feel is pretty well done, making for a slower sipper.
Overall – As with my complaint with most of the New England Imperials of the recent, this is far to sweet and malty, lacking balance on the palate. OK if you want a malty and very fruit heavy IPA. Alright, but not one I would likely frequent too often.

Aroma is piney/extremely nutty hops and fruit. The flavor is fruit, malts, a hint of dark fruit and a very nutty/slight peanut/spicy/piney hop finish.

Canned 3.11.2025 and purchased at the brewery by our kids. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, fluffy head of white foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, and resin. Sweet orange, grapefruit and toffee taste with toasted caramel and a piney bitterness.
