Pours a pale orange with a firm opaque tint to the translucency, making the beer in this circular glass look like a ripening peach. Head is a couple fingers of white foam. Aroma is tropical fruit puree, with less distinct hop play. Doughy malts sit behind. Flavor profile is back to fruit puree. Peaches sit alongside orange zest, mango, and papaya. Doughy malts come through later. After taste is a little chalky. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture has a light fizz but otherwise falls pretty still on the tongue. Overall, some solid hop play here making it a fairly respectable juicy IPA.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can.

Aroma is very sweet citrus and piney hops. The flavor is citrus, malts, a hint of soap/stone fruit and a very slightly soapy/bitter/piney hop finish.

Yellow gold in color with a hazy complexion. There’s a fingernail of off white around the rim and covering most of the top. Heavy lacing. There’s fruity yeast aroma is of green onions. I’m tasting green onions and light malt. The mouth is very approachable.

"We've got this good IPA made with Citra, Motueka, Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin hops."
"Cool, what we gonna name it."
"Let's name it after a crab."
"Ok."

Moderately turbid with haze and held in a pastel goldenrod appearance, Dssolvr's Dungenes crawls right out with a tantalizing citrus, tropical, floral, grassy and winey scent, backed with a creamy sweet taste of shortcake, cereal and honey. With the hops quickly commanding attention, the taste quickly develops into a fruity cocktail of oranges, white grapefruit and mango with a followup of white wine and honeydew. A balancing bitterness of green tea, lemon verbena, sassafras, fresh pine and peppery herbs lead to a citrusy, hemp-like finish.

Medium-full and rounded, the smoothly bitter IPA shows slight hints of hop derived astringency in a malty-dry, bitter-sweet aftertaste.

Dated 04/08/25, into a wide wine glass.

Pours a pale orangish yellow with a huge fluffy head that stays for ages. Easily one of the best IPA pours I've seen in a long time. Aroma is white grapes and dank, catty citrus rind with a little grapefruit. Flavor follows the nose. This is one of the most Nelson-forward IPAs I've had in a long time. It's a huge hit of fresh white grape with some heavy greenery alongside orange peel, almost reminiscent of a mellowed out amaro. Finish is moderately bitter, with some creamy orange juice flavors and sweet oats on the back end sort of like a fruit Tootsie Roll. I definitely get some lime zest as well, but the juicy flavors lean entirely orange. Feel is great, super creamy and thick, body is pretty high but the bittersweetness and complexity hides the ABV completely. It's really drinkable and sits on just about every line possible for a NEIPA, just slightly juicy, slightly dank, slightly sweet, and slightly bitter.

Overall, this one feels like a serious effort. The flavor doesn't quite live up to the glory of the pour, but it's still very complex. I'd say this one is a great showcase of how to fit a lot of Nelson flavor into a beer, since you do get a catty funk alongside both dry and sweet white grapes.

16oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, fluffy white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing. It smelled of orange peel, grapefruit, guava and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney, sharp bitterness.
