Blurring the line between hoppy beer and milkshake, Hop Butcher takes those smooth and citrusy hints from Citra and Strata hops and embellishes them with actual orange and cream to create basically an alcoholic creamsicle.
Hazy orange and adorning the glass with a matte finish, Blazed Orange Jr. starts off with a creamy froth and a soothing scent of citrus and cream. As its sweeter taste slathers the tastebuds, the flavors of honey, vanilla, marshmallow and wafer bring a near dessert-like influence. As the hops add their own citrusy complement of mandarin, mango, ruby reds and apricot, a more exotic passionfruit, kiwi and guava tropical flare exists. But the overcast of orange is front and center, nearly dwarfing any other hop flavor before draping in the velvety smooth richness of vanilla and bitterness.
Slightly sharp to close, the session finishes bitter with chewable vitamins for a semblance of beer to cast lasting impressions before falling back on the orange and cream.
