16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It left sudsy lacing on the glass. It smelled of guava, mango, orange and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a piney, sharp bitterness.

Flipping the beer world on it's head, Hop Butcher embraces the hops from down under to fuel a hazy, strong and fruity ale.

Glowing dimly with a deep orange hue, Arid Grit blossoms with a cottony white froth and a perfumy scent of tropical fruit, green fruit, citrus and fragrant herbs. As its creamy sweetness glosses the tongue, tracks of shortcake, coconut and cereal are laid. A burst of hops come next with notions of tangerine, white grapefruit, lemon and grape. Tangy, racy and tropical, additional flavors of passionfruit, yuzu and lime all contribute to the bright fruit cocktail. Trending bitter in balance, the finish comes with verbena, green tea, cedar and hemp.

Medium bodied, malty-dry and smoothly bitter in finish, the New Zealand influenced hop bomb is both creative and masterful in a hazy IPA that's rare in nearly any hemisphere.

to Hop Butcher Bughouse Square 5/26: Pours identical, stronger aromas. Less floral white grape. More sweet grape and tropical notes. Sweeter

to Hop Butcher Mo' Onion 5/26: Pours darker, similar head. Similar aromas. Less earthy berries, floral grape. More guava, lime, grape juice. Sweeter. Winner: Mo' Onions

Overall: Hop Butcher with another New Zealand drop. NZ Cascade plus some more New Zealand hops and "Nelson juice". Flavors of orange, tropical white grape, juicy pineapple, and berries. Juicy, tropical, and amazing complexity. Hop Butcher keeps pumping out great hop juice like this one it's often easy to overlook a few, but in 2026 New Zealand hops are where it's at and this is among the best of them in the NEIPA game.
