A 440ml can with a BB of Oct 2017. Acquired a little while back from the Brewdog webshop. The label mentions that this is a grisette brewed with a touch of smoked malt and fermented with S. bruxellensis Trois and a mixed saison yeast. Hopped with Citra, El Dorado and Huell Melon.
A: Poured into a tulip. Can conditioned. A hazy pale-gold hue with tons of fine suspended sediment and good carbonation. Yields a massive head of frothy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before slowly subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of light, fruity hops with hints of berries, mild strawberry, citrus, a touch of melon, grass/hay, earthy yeast, pale malt, subtle grain and a whisper of woodsmoke. Fantastic.
T: Tastes of fruity, understated hops with hints of berries, faint strawberry, light citrus, grass/hay, earthy yeast, pale grainy malt and subtle stewed hops. Dry, followed by a crisp hoppy bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body for the strength. Lightly astringent and well balanced on the palate. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, faint berries, earthy yeast and pale malt.
O: Excellent - surprising intensity and complexity for a 4% beer. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are a satisfying mix of berries, citrus, earthy yeast and pale malt. Nice body; light yet substantial. Very quaffable - a perfect thirst-quenching brew. Goes down a treat. Worth sampling if you have the chance.
