Bought this can for comparison purposes on Baltic Porter Day from the bottle shop refrigerators at Beer Merchants Tap in the fabulously regenerating Hackney Wick.
Pours a huge head that quickly dissipates, a bit disappointingly. Smells mostly of chocolate malts. Despite being an avowed malt-head, I'd like more hops or herbs... this borders on too sweet even for me. Certainly not to the traditional style of being blended with a bit of stale porter. Medium-mouthed @ 4.5 ABV.
I give Cloudwater good Overall Hugs, mostly for being prolific. I drank my first from them 14 months ago and they had 510 brews listed on BA. Now, they have 803. this might take experimenting in an extreme direction. But they are 12 years and still showing incredible enthusiasm.
