375ml white-waxed bottle served in a tulip. Don't see a date. Got it from @Braunmeister_1943 in a trade. Notably, I have never seen a bottle filled closer to the very top than this on, fluid level was maybe like 3mm from the crown.
Pours dark, dark brown, almost no head despite vigorous pour. A few coarse, almost motor-oily looking bobbles form about three quarters of a ring after several minutes in the glass. Smell is a blast of vanilla with a chocolate and dark roast coffee background. Based on the aroma, I'm afraid the vanilla has been overdone.
Taste...vanilla is a strong presence, but of the kind that floats up the nose, not the kind that sits on the tongue. I think the vanilla is fighting with the dark roast coffee and char bitterness.
Mouthfeel is light for the style, a little grittiness. Overall...it's not bad, but it needs more body and less vanilla.
